I knew exactly what I was signing up for and am so grateful to be able to read this as an ARC. I saw the cover art, the selfcest w/ multiverse and was like YEAH I NEED TO READ THIS LMAO. It was such a blast!!! I wasn’t sure with the pacing how this could be an almost 500 page long book, but everything worked out really well. The comedy worked throughout the book for me, but there are very specific references that might not work for others.
I thoroughly enjoyed the POVs of both Good August and Bad August and really felt that it was clear who was narrating each chapter. W.H. did a great job with laying out the similarities and differences between the two Augusts and I loved that we got to see buff himbo x charismatic (and slightly sus) professor versions of him.
Things got a little just-close-your-eyes-and-vibe with the explanations at some point (where I just smiled and nodded as I do with most time travel and interdimensional metaverse etc. etc. shenanigans bc I am here to Vibe and W.H. delivered. 😂) The smut was really nice too and a lot of fun! The body appreciation by both Augusts were really fun to compare and contrast to lmaooo.
I think the only downside for me was the side characters, but I somewhat enjoyed them by the end. I just really liked the Augusts more than anyone else so I could see why he would fall in love with himself. 🤣 He’s that lovable!!!
